Beetje Blozen Podcast ︎︎︎

De Heg ︎︎︎

Late 2023 I was advised by friends of friends to go have a coffee with Meinou van Beek, podcaster and writer of sensual, female focused poetry. Her wish was to give visual shape to her work, and she was looking for a designer to help her with this.

This is one of those (work) matches that only comes along every once in a while. It was an instant hit, and working with her sparked many new levels in my own creative thinking.

We decided to design a system that we can tour around with (Wildeburg 2025, here we come!), encouraging people to take a little moment for themselves, and dive into the podcast one story at a time/sign.

This project is all about body positivity and sensuality, and I made design choices that reflect this: the word mark has such a high exposure that it almost oozes out of its letter forms, and if you look closely, you’ll notice that each sign uses photography of the female body, in all its beautiful forms.

Beetje Blozen is already touring around the Netherlands. The first stop so far was the art project called ‘De Heg’ (shown below) on Marineterrein in Amsterdam, initiated by artist Naomi Jansen, where it was on display for all of April 2024.

One of many things I love so much about this project, is that it’s ongoing, and keeps expanding. Both Meinou and I feel a genuine urge to turn Beetje Blozen into a bigger movement, and we can’t wait to see what the future has in store for it.
